RFF DAILY NEWS – April 7 – Decor & More

CREATING A GARDEN CINEMA

The Gardens of the Jamaica Pegasus will be transformed into an open-air cinema through the decorating art of Props & More, the company that in a few short years has become the first stop for clients seeking a special set for an event, TV studio or film set.

PROPS & MORE describes itself as ‘a group of talented artists whose main purpose is to put a WOW! expression on your face‘. Under the direction of visionary artist Scheed Cole, Props & More have designed and built innovative, original and spectacular displays for clients and events that have become intellectual properties of Jamaica. The impressive film reel created for the 2011 Reggae Film Festival has become the event icon and Props & More will continue as décor sponsor of all future stagings of the RFF.

UNIQUE APPROACH    A unique approach is what sets Props & More apart, as the company custom designs and makes all their products and no two look alike. Merging architecture, construction, industrial design, engineering and the arts to produce strictly inventive works, the Props & More concepts have NO LIMIT.

Props and More has created a number of distinct features for corporate entities. Some of the more spectacular were created for client Main Event, including a Tiki Mask Entrance Piece 18 ft by 16 ft high, with lit glowering eyes, nostrils with smoke effusing from them, and a Red Stripe Rasta Head – 4 ft. by 3 ft. of fiberglass and rope figure with guitar mounted on metal at the entrance of the Reggae Sumfest Festival.

FILM AND TV  Film and TV set designs by Props & More include sets for CPTC-TV feature programmes. Corporate clients include RBC Royal Bank for its re-branding name changeover, while mobile spectacles include the Emancipation Road March Float 2008, in which Props & More created all technical sculptural features of the Vulture (6ft by 4ft), Giant Humming Bird (12 ft by 10 ft), Dancehall Queen, (8ft by 6ft) and African Head (3 ft by 2 ft) for client JCDC.
